Emporia Symphony Orchestra presents Music from Around the World. Music by classic composers such as Sibelius, Chabrier, Delius and Borodin will be performed, as well as the Outdoor Overture by American composer Copland and Perla by Peruvian composer Ivonne Paredes.

The concert will take place at Albert Taylor Hall, ESU, at 7:30 pm.

ACM Presents the 16th Annual Sound of Silent Film Festival

ACM’s popular Sound of Silent Film Festival is a unique event featuring new short silent films in every conceivable genre screened with newly-composed musical scores performed live.

ACM sources the films through a global call, commissions the composers and their wonderful musicians bring it all to life. Ivonne was commissioned to write music for the film Neighbors by director Noam Argov. In this noir comic-thriller, a woman navigates an envious obsession with the life of her beautiful neighbor.

There are two completely different programs this year and two ways to enjoy them. They will be performed live in Chicago in the VIN312 parking lot with limited seating, followed by a virtual presentation a week later.

Don’t miss the sixteenth annual Sound of Silent Film Festival!

The Ensemble Ipse New Music Gallery is a repository of pieces for solo instruments, small ensembles, and electronics. The goal of the gallery is to provide a site where a broad spectrum of current music by emerging composers can be experienced. This project will lead to greater awareness of contemporary music, and to further recognition of the participants in the form of performances and commissions.

Westben Digital Performer-Composer Residency - Week of Premieres!

Join in for a week of premieres of the compositions created during the 2020 Digital Performer/Composer Residency!

Experience the creations of 60+ international performer/composers in a NEW Digital Venue. Over the course of the residency, 13 pieces have been devised in ensembles comprised of participants from all around the globe. This allows for two pieces to be premiered in the Digital Venue July 6-10 and three pieces to premiere on the 11th!

Ivonne’s new piece Guilt is part of the multi-movement work Responses in collaboration with other composers/instrumentalists in the residency.

Freshen your palette between performances each day with a Dare to Share video created by local chefs or environmental partners. These experiences will also be available on the Digital Venue.

The DIGITAL VENUE will open on July 6th at westbendigitalvenue.ca

Black House SoCal Intermedia Workshop

The Black House Collective will be hosting its 17th new music workshop in Irvine, California. This workshop will have an electroacoustic/intermedia focus that will take place in the Experimental Media Performance Lab at UC-Irvine.

Over the course of 4 days, composers and the workshop ensemble will work together to create and document an evening length multimedia performance.

Ivonne will write a new 10-12 minute piece for the ensemble.

For their launch event, lab studios by glo will be transformed into a living, breathing space for the arts.

The theme of this event is Then & Now: The Evolution of Tradition, featuring music for solo instrument (+ electronics), and a new collaborative work for oboe, hip-hop dancer, and laptop.

Join us for the second installment of Periapsis Emerging Artist Residencies, where young choreographers and composers work together to develop new work on the company, receive expert feedback, and present the works-in-progress in a studio showing.

The selected artists this year are choreographers Annalee Traylor and Cameron McKinney, with composers Hilary Purrington and Ivonne K. Paredes.

This evening will be a combination showing and workshop with guest teacher Tiffany Rea-Fisher, artistic director of Elisa Monte Dance.

Nos complace presentar a la compositora peruana, radicada en Nueva York, Ivonne Paredes, cuyo trabajo combina modernas técnicas de composición de la música contemporánea y sonidos electroacústicos. GROUP WORK VII

In their US premiere as a duo, American trombonist and countertenor David Whitwell and Irish pianist Cliodna Shanahan bring a program of US and world premieres to NYC. The London based Shanahan will give the US premieres of 3 solo piano works: Hannah Kendall's On the Chequer'd Field Array'd, Richard Causton's Night Piece to represent the London crowd, as well as Irish composer Gerald Barry's Triorchic Blues. Together they will premiere their own trombone and piano version of selections from Messaien's Quartet for the End of Time, as well as works by Ivonne Paredes, Abraham Z. Morrison, and Matthew Gantt; and the epic 8 Songs for a Drag Queen by Italian composer Girolamo Deraco, written especially for Whitwell incorporating his voice and trombone to tell the story of Esther, a drag performer grappling with danger and her own identity in a formative night in New York City.
